Earth Day Action For Environmental Justice Community Festival
5/4/2016
NYC Soil & Water Conservation staff representing the SWIM Coalition joined buildOn's Environmental Justice Festival on Monday April 25th at the Hunts Point Recreation Center in the Bronx. Hosted the week following Earth Day, buildOn organized a festival for the community with student volunteers and participants from Bronx River Alliance, Green Thumb, WE ACT, the Point, and other local environmental organizations. SWIM participated with a table featuring the Sewer in a Suitcase, maps of the sewershed and other educational material. We met many students from local schools in the neighborhood, and had a fantastic group of volunteers from buildOn's volunteer program. We look forward to future events with buildOn!
